The City of Newark wants to hear from you about housing needs through a short survey.

Newark is studying how to encourage and promote a mix of housing types and sizes.

Like other Housing Element programs, the goal of this work is to allow for families to get their start in Newark, seniors to age in place, and for more neighbors to take advantage of all that the city has to offer.

The first step of this process is to better understand what the Newark community is looking for. The project team has put together a survey for community members to provide their thoughts on what new housing might look like and how new homes might impact the future of Newark.

Additional outreach will continue over the summer, with draft zoning changes available later in 2026.
