Pre-Approved ADU Plans: Applications Now Accepted!

The City of Newark is now accepting applications for pre-approved plans for accessory dwelling units (ADUs) from fabricators, architects, homeowners, and others.

The Planning and Building Inspection Divisions will review ADU applications for pre-approval and, if approved, will post the pre-approved ADU plans to the City’s website. Homeowners will be able to choose from these pre-approved plans to save time and reduce uncertainty in building their own ADU.
